Three King's (King Cake) Happy Hour - Fri, Jan 5th
Join us Friday, January 5th as we kick off the Mardi Gras season with complimentary tastings of this year's King Cake flavors.
King Cakes are steeped in tradition and history that we’re proud to carry on at Dauphine’s! The first king cakes were made in Europe in celebration of the Catholic Epiphany, known as Three Kings Day (January 6th). Hidden inside each cake was a fava bean or “feve”. The lucky finder of the bean was “King” for the day and was said to receive good luck for the year. Others say that the lucky winner also brings the cake to the next gathering! In 1870, the fava bean was replaced with tiny ceramic or porcelain charm. These antique little good luck charms were cherished and saved.
We're kicking off the celebration a day early, so join us Friday, January 5th from 4-7PM as we celebrate the Mardi Gras season with a tasting of Chef Joy Razo's king cakes. We'll be slicing five flavors of king cake at both our indoor and enclosed outdoor bar.
Enjoy a complimentary slice a cake - (while they last!) - along side our happy hour cocktails and snacks! There will be 5 opportunities, one for each flavor cake, for a guest to win a mini king cake of their own. Pick up dates will be determined by the cake won, starting Thursday, January 18th.
Happy hour food and beverage specials available throughout. Complimentary slices of king cake featuring each one of our five flavors.
